REHABILITATION EXERCISES

An important part of all of my treatments is rehabilitation. This includes discussing and aiding in postural changes and core strengthening. When my skill set is not suitable or another point of view is needed I like to involve Personal Trainers, Pilates Instructors, Yoga Teachers or other therapists. Learning how to keep our bodies moving while going about our day-to-day lives is key to maintaining a healthy, functional body.

Rehabilitation is, I believe, what sets me apart from your usual Sports Massage Therapist. Not only is your time with me in the clinic hands-on quality treatment time but, in addition, I also create personalised rehabilitation plans for each individual patient. I select each exercise based on what is convenient for each patient; they can be done at home or work. This may involve you purchasing foam rollers, tennis balls or resistance bands, and I do always promote certain strength exercises to be done alongside a Personal Trainer. By doing this, I strongly believe that my patients not only get better sooner but that they can prevent injuries from returning to such high levels of discomfort or debilitation. Educating you on what went wrong in the first place is very important to me.

The body must be treated as a whole. Movement, posture, training, sleep and nutrition are all part of this. On occasion I do need to outsource assistance for these matters; however, I feel this is still part of the treatment goal, to get you better as quickly as possible. I have good connections with other Therapists, Personal Trainers, Nutritionists, running and football coaches, bike specialists and plenty more.

We will work through most of this together and if you are involved with a sports team or training team, then I can happily talk to coaches about what might be best.
